Catelynn and Tyler Baltierra‘s relationship with their first child, Carly, has been strained this past year due to Covid. The parents have been opening up about how difficult it is staying in touch with Carly and her parents because of the pandemic.
But now, Cate is opening up about another battle: trolls.
At the beginning of Covid, Catelynn revealed to E! News that she and Tyler would only go to visit their firstborn in the summer, which could cause issues with filming.
“Obviously she is part of our story,” Catelynn said of Carly, who, as fans know, she put up for adoption. “So when things come up on camera, we talk about her as much as we can.”
“We are in the process of talking with her parents about having another visit and if we can make it all work for everyone,” Catelynn reveals.
She adds: “Then we will definitely try and do it.”
However, it turned out her adoptive parents weren’t interested in letting Carly continue of the show.
“Carly is getting older,” Catelynn noted “It’s gotten to a point where her parents want to keep her private.”
With the recent global health crisis, a lot of things are uncertain for many people. This affected the Teen Mom community as well, and the reality TV star is latest person to speak out on how this is affecting her family.
Not only has fear of spreading the virus impacted the show, but it has also impacted their families as well. One of Catelynn’s early Covid Instagram posts highlights this uncertainty. She shared a picture of her family members looking through the window of a house.
“This is the sad truth of what’s going on in our country,” she wrote. “Having to see my 88 year old great grandma and Novas great great grandma through her window…. I understand it’s keeping them safe but I really wish to hug her one last time before she passes.”
Now, it’s affecting her relationship with Carly as well.
Catelynn shared that her time with Carly has been cut short due to the pandemic.
“We’ve done a FaceTime, like Novalee and [Carly] FaceTimed. But yeah, like visit-wise, it’s just kind of up in the air until things calm down or people are vaccinated,” Catelynn shared with In Touch Weekly. “Everything in the world is up in the air right now.”
She added, “We didn’t see her [in 2020] at all because of the pandemic,” explaining: “Like nobody was, you know, flying anywhere, going anywhere. So yeah. That never happened. That didn’t happen this year.”
But now, Cate is opening up about her insecurities in the relationship.
