I think the celebrities were the real winners
It’s a night that kids in high school dream about. Because it will make all of their time spent in class worth it: Prom night. You take forever picking out your clothes, you spend your little bit of allowance on dinner at a kind of fancy place, you may even splurge a rent a limo that 20 other kids cram themselves into. Then you and your date can slow dance in the gym that looks so much different with some mood lighting and streamers.
While almost every kid asks a classmate to go to the prom with them, some bold teens ask their celebrity crushes to attend. Most are turned down, but there’s a few lucky people out there who got that dream date.
Tay Tay was recruited by MTV to appear on their show Once Upon a Prom in 2008. She chose to go to Hillcrest High School’s prom in Tuscaloosa, Alabama with senior Whit Wright.
When she was just getting big, Rihanna appeared on Once Upon a Prom in 2007. She looked beautiful in a blue gown, and her date Richard was stunned into submission.
Drake made Kennedy Brown’s night when he showed up to the 15-year-old’s own personal prom. The girl was suffering from terminal brain cancer and wasn’t able to attend the school’s regularly-scheduled prom.
