Back in November, Justin Duggar and Claire Spivey announced their engagement. The two were courting for about a year, and decided to tie the knot right after Justin turned 18!
The couple later wed on February 26, which seemed awfully quick for the youngsters. And as many people know, sometimes a quick wedding is necessary…because Claire might be pregnant!
The signs that Clare might be pregnant with her first child are starting to point to “yes,” especially after her latest Instagram post.
Back in February, Claire Spivey and Justin Duggar tied the knot it a large Texas wedding. Claire and Justin broke the news of their wedding on Instagram, and Justin later shared more photos from the day.
“Happy birthday to my beautiful wife! I’m so thankful to have married my best friend! I love you so much,” he captioned the additional shots.
And as any Duggar fan would know, the family tends to get married very young. So the fact that they were getting married wasn’t a surprise, the surprise was how quickly they ran to the altar!
Fans immediately began speculating that it might’ve been a shotgun wedding.
“We all know [Claire and Justin are] getting married so young so they can have intercourse but after the wedding how fast do you think they will announce a pregnancy?” a reddit user wrote on a thread. “I’m thinking 3-4 months.”
“Joy was pregnant within like 4 days so I’m guessing the same,” one person replied.
Another user replied that she likely won’t have a “honeymoon baby,” since the more popular Duggar pattern has been to welcome their first child more than a year after their wedding.
“I think they planned the latest time before her birthday,” a third reddit user added. “Whereas Jill, Joy and Kendra planned the wedding date based on their cycle.”
To be fair, if that were true it would make sense, because Justin and Claire would have been 18 and 19 respectively on February 26.
One former fundamentalist chimed in with their thoughts on the matter. They wrote:
I honestly think it’s quite possible they’re going to wait a bit, based on the fact that she comes from a family of only 6. I was raised extreme fundy and I know a ton of people who were and still are fundy to some degree, and most of us went on to use birth control even if we were still in the religion when we were married. People who objected to hormonal bc use condoms or, at the very least, pull out. Every friend I know from IBLP families with 8-13 kids went on to use bc and limit their kids, so it’s pretty possible (to me) to think that Justin and Claire might not try to have as many kids as possible. I feel like if she came from a family that limited births, she is going to be comfortable with doing the same.
I don’t know how fame/wanting to be in the limelight might interact with the family planning, though. So, I guess I can see it going either way.
Later, Justin and Clare opened up about their post-wedding life. In a statement made to Us Weekly, the couple said they were excited to begin their new lives together.
“Today we have started a journey together that God crafted long before we ever knew it was meant to be,” they told the outlet at the time. “We are so thankful for the love of Christ that has brought our lives together and teaches us what real love looks like. There is no greater joy than marrying your best friend.”
As for exactly what the future holds, they didn’t say.
“We are thankful for the prayers and support so many have shown us through our engagement and look forward to this new chapter of our lives together as husband and wife,” they said.
But yesterday, Claire sparked more pregnancy rumors with a new Instagram photo!
