Though many celebrities may seem larger-than-life, the reality is that they’re human just like the rest of us. So when life comes at them fast, like us, they just gotta roll with the punches. That’s what Diddy is doing now after being hospitalized for the fourth time in two years.
Over the weekend, Diddy revealed the unthinkable after having to cancel a scheduled appearance in San Francisco. “I just found out yesterday, they squeezed me in for today,” he said in a video posted to his Instagram Stories from his hospital bed. He said he needed surgery to repair a quadriceps tendon tear. “Pray for ya boy, I’m gonna see you all next time and make it up y’all.”
He also shared that he’s no stranger to being accident-prone and has been such for some time now. The mogul revealed that he’s had about 10 medical procedures in his life.
“I’m clumsy. I trip. I fall. I fall in holes,” he said. “It’s always been like that. This is my fourth surgery in two years. I’ve had two rotator cuffs, a knee replacement, and now it’s on quad.”
Diddy didn’t let his past and present surgeries stop him from pushing through, but did take them as signs. “At the end of the day, this is God’s work to slow me down,” he admitted. “Take better care of body and eat right — and just stop treating my body like a machine. This is unbelievable. I did it to myself by accident.”
“I just wanna be honest with ya and say to everybody else that’s clumsy and accident-prone, I pray for you,” he added. “Pray for me. This is gonna be my last surgery, I promise.”
Diddy then showed clips of the doctor prepping his leg for surgery before ending the video. He concluded with a message for a group of kids who are fighting cancer. He made the kids a day before his surgery The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“You guys are truly inspiring me now…Never give up. Praise. Peace.”
