The reality star's "heart stopped" during the operation
It’s no secret Heidi Montag is a fan of plastic surgery. The Hills alum star infamously underwent 10 different cosmetic procedures — ranging from liposuction to a complete butt augmentation — in the course of 24 hours in 2010. Looking back at the risky and dangerous makeover, she said doesn’t recommend anyone taking such a drastic measure to beautify themselves.
According to the 31-year-old, she technically died on the operation table when she went under the knife.
Being beautiful isn’t a pretty job. Just ask Heidi Montag.
The Hills alum infamously underwent different cosmetic surgeries over the course of 24 hours in 2010. Though the intensive procedure ended up being a successful one, Heidi almost lost her life on the operation table. Sharing never-before-heard details of the headline-grabbing makeover, the 31-year-old said her heart stopped for a full minute and she was technically dead while under the knife.
“I died for a minute,” she revealed in a new interview with Paper magazine, telling the magazine husband Spencer Pratt thought she wasn’t going to pull through. “With that much surgery, I had to have 24-hour nurse care and Spencer didn’t want to leave my side.”
She continued, “My security guards called Spencer and told him, ‘Heidi’s heart stopped. She’s not going to make it.’ And I easily could’ve.”
But even when doctors had revived her, things did not get easier for Heidi. According to her, she was immediately put on Demerol, a highly addictive narcotic, to alleviate the intense pain she was feeling once she came to consciousness.
“I was at a recovery center and had Demerol to deal with the pain because it was so extreme,” she recalled. “Cutting yourself up isn’t something I’d recommend, and Demerol isn’t anything to play around with. That’s how Michael Jackson died.”
