What's going on?
Hulk Hogan might look like one of the most intimidating people on the planet, but he’s got a soft side. A few years ago he had to deal with an awful situation that ended up exposing himself and people calling him a racist. All of that dust has settled, and he’s opened up about the situation in a recent interview. Find out the details behind one of the biggest celebrity scandals of the past decade!
In case you don’t know, Terry Gene Bollea, better known by his ring name “Hulk Hogan” is a now 63-year-old professional wrestler. He was most popular in the 1980’s, but you can still see him nowadays on television and in acting roles in movies like Rocky III and Walker, Texas Ranger.
Things started to spiral downhill for Hogan after a sex tape of his was released. People didn’t take it lightly (not because of what was seen but..) because the wrestler made some very racist comments in the tape. It sparked a huge controversy.
The only thing was: the tape wasn’t filmed with his consent.
You won’t like him when he’s angry…
What did he do? He sued. Back in 2012, he won a case against Gawker, where he was awarded a $140.1 million judgement for the website publishing portions of the tape without his knowledge.
Recently Hogan appeared on Good Morning America. There, he explained that Gawker filed for bankruptcy during the case, so he settled for $31 million from the site.
