You know, they normally don’t recommend jumpsuit orange as a wedding color, but this Jersey Shore just might be rocking the look when he walks down the aisle later this year. Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is all set to marry fiancée Lauren Pesce — but their wedding might take place behind bars.
It turns out that Jersey Shore: Family Reunion star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is planning to marry hi college sweetheart, Lauren Pesce, AFTER his fraud sentencing in October. Guess they’re taking “for better or for worse” very seriously!
The reality TV star will be sentenced on Oct. 2, and sources told Radar Online that the couple is trying the knot in early November. Fortunately for them, it should work out that they won’t have to get married behind bars — but the honeymoon might have to wait awhile!
“Ordinarily in federal court, a defendant is given a period of time (30 to 60 days) to surrender voluntarily to begin a prison sentence after the sentence is imposed,” Henry Klingeman, Mike’s lawyer, revealed.
An insider added that the couple “figured out the logistics ahead of time.”
As Celebuzz! previously reported, the reality TV star pleaded guilty to violating federal tax laws this January. Though he initially planned on pleading not guilty to the tax evasion charges, he changed his plans when he faced the possibility of spending 15 years in prison.
“What the defendants admitted to today, quite simply, is tantamount to stealing money from their fellow taxpayers,” U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito said in a press release. “All of us are required by law to pay our fair share of taxes. Celebrity status does not provide a free pass from this obligation.”
