The Honeymoon Phase sure was short this go around.
For a second there it looked like Iggy Azalea had sparked up a new relationship with NFL star DeAndre Hopkins. The two swapped steamy Instagram comments before Iggy flat out referred to Hopkins as her “man.”
However, things weren’t exactly as they seemed.
This news comes after she spilled the biggest pickles in the music industry. Scroll to the end of this article to watch the video.
After Hopkins hopped on Twitter to clarify his relationship with the rapper, saying that he is every bit of “single,” Iggy followed suit. “I have come to the conclusion iam going to be alone forever,” she tweeted. “I am completely fine with that.”
Fans decided that either Hopkins changed his mind after Iggy went public… or the two were never an item to begin with.
“This was by far the quickest relationship I’ve ever seen. Was it real or nah,” commented a fan on Twitter. “I just feel like this was all some play play s**t,” wrote another.
“You have to give a relationship more time than this to grow before throwing it to the media,” added a Twitter user.
The last time Iggy shared something with the Internet, she paid a hefty price. After the “Fancy” rapper offered fans a taste of her latest modeling project, she got back “unnecessary” negativity.
The star, who has taken to posting revealing Instagram photos more than often, was criticized for posing more than she raps. In response, she penned a lengthy note to the masses, writing, “If it were up to me, I’d be releasing songs at the same rate I post pictures.”
The star’s Instagram comments were sprinkled with backlash after she posted the finished products of her modeling projects.
“And you need a top and shorts,” a fan wrote on Instagram. “What’s the point of this,” wrote another. As one put it: “Iggy are u crazy whats this?”
The comments got so out of hand that Iggy took to Twitter to formally respond.
“Say what you want about me posting pictures on instagram but honestly, it gives me something else creative i can focus on – when sometimes im in a dark place or i feel stagnant. Most days i want my project to drop, yesterday! but i dont get to make those choices,” she wrote. “And maybe its silly, but it really has been helping me lately to feel more postive and just keep my mind in a creative space constantly thinking of new visual things and color palates. Im really glad ive got something i can do without needing permission.”
“Because if it were up to me id be releasing songs at the same rate i post pictures,” she went on. “I really care about music and all creative things in my life genuinely. I put my heart into it and i just want to say: thanks for supporting me in anyway genuinely. im grateful.”
