It’s a girl! Kate Hudson welcomed her third child earlier this month. This is the first child she shares with boyfriend Danny Fujikawa, and they recently revealed the super sweet reason for the newborn’s name.
In an Instagram post, Kate announced that they decided to name their daughter Rani Rose Hudson-Fujikawa, pronounced Ronnie, “after her grandfather, Ron Fujikawa.”
“Ron was the most special man who we all miss dearly,” she continued.
Ron had passed away in October 2012.
“To name her after him is an honor,” she continued.
“Everyone is doing well and happy as can be,” the new mother of three finished her post. “Our family thanks you for all the love and blessings that have been sent our way and we send ours right back.”
Fans and followers were quick to offer their well wishes to the new mom and her family.
“Congrats!! Yay!!! I can only imagine how gorgeous she is! So happy to hear baby and mama are healthy and happy!” wrote one excited fan.
Another follower commented, “So happy for you and your beautiful family. Love, love, love the name and the sweet sentiment it holds.”
“Congratulations to everyone on Rani’s arrival. Can’t wait to see her first picture,” added another commentator.
“Congratulations on your new baby girl! Blessings of health and happiness to you all,” wote a fourth fan. “Love her name.”
