On January 5, 2023, Tristan Thompson‘s mother passed away from a heart attack in her home.
Khloé Kardashian, Kris Jenner, and Kim Kardashian all attended the funeral a week later, but Khloé had not spoken publicly about the tragic loss.
Now, three weeks later, Khloé has finally broken her silence about the passing of her children’s grandmother.

“I have been avoiding this…. Avoiding accepting this is real. I have so much to say but nothing at all…. I have so many emotions and still I feel numb,” Khloé Kardashian wrote on Instagram on January 23. “Life can be brutally unfair at times and This has been one of the toughest times in so many of our lives. But at the same time, I feel blessed that I am lucky to have had someone that makes saying goodbye so incredibly difficult.”
The 38-year-old wrote that she wasn’t choosing to say a final goodbye to Andrea Thompson, adding that she knows she will see her again.
“I know I will hear your sweet voice and infectious laugh again. I know I’ll get to feel that embrace of yours,” she wrote. “I’ll see you again with the many that have gone before you that I so desperately miss, love and cherish. So, I’m choosing to say, that until I see you again in Heaven, I miss you and I will continue to miss you more and more every single day.”
Andrea passed away on January 5, according to Page Six, in her Toronto home. Her passing came as a shock to everyone in the family.
Her son, Tristan Thompson, has yet to publicly comment on his mother’s passing, but he is likely taking time for his family at the moment.

Khloé shared numerous photos of Andrea with their families alongside her lengthy post.
“I know you are with our Lord and Savior. I know you are rejoicing up there. Dancing and singing and probably yelling ‘who does that!!’ because we are crying at your loss,” the reality star’s caption continued. “At the same time, I know you never wanted to leave your boys. They are your entire world. They will learn to live with the hole in their hearts because they are warriors just like their warrior mommy.”
She added:
Just know, I promise you, Amari will be perfectly ok. We will all look after him, help him and protect him. Your boys will be ok because they have their guardian Angel by their side.
Khloé and Tristan recently welcomed a second child together via surrogate, which was featured on the season 2 premiere of The Kardashians.

Kim Kardashian captured the moment of her son’s arrival on July 28 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. A nervous Khloé admitted she was “not ready.” However, Kim asserted “you’re never ready, but you’re ready.”
Viewers then saw as the sisters made their way to the delivery room, while the surrogate prepared to have the baby.
A few moments later, the reality star’s baby was welcomed into the world! “He looks just like True!” Kim excitedly yelled.
During a confessional Khloé revealed, “I am so grateful. It’s such a beautiful gift that we’re able to have.”
