Authorities have yet to name an official time of death.
New evidence surrounding Mac Miller’s death has surfaced. TMZ‘s sources revealed that the rapper died hours before he was found by paramedics. Medical professionals are speculating that Miller died Thursday, though he was found Friday.
With this new information revealed, detectives are opting to take a closer look into the party Miller head Thursday night. According to reports, friends accompanied the K.I.D.S. artist in his home until the early hours of Friday morning.
This news comes after the rapper’s candlelit vigil. While Mac Miller’s industry friends used their time on various stages to send the rapper off with a warm goodbye, his fans opted for something different. Thousands of fans gathered together in Miller’s beloved Frick Park/Blue Slide Playground for an intimate vigil.
In addition to the candles, flowers and fan-written messages, Miller’s grandmother shared a heartfelt speech. “He would be so excited,” she said tearfully. “I wish he was here, but he loves you all. He loves Pittsburgh and everything you have done for him.”
During the event, a petition to change the name of the park to “Mac Miller Blue Slide Park” was passed around. Pittsburgh’s mayor, Bill Peduto, who attended the vigil, shared his thoughts on the call for change.
“I know a lot of people have been saying we should rename the park. There are strict rules on naming of public assets within the city now,” he said. “I believe it’s three years after someone has passed that you can then name something after them. This was basically done in order to not have politicians naming things after themselves while they’re still in office.”
He made sure to clearly state that he is not opposed to the name change.
