Nelson Thomas took a serious hit in Las Vegas this week. The star of The Challenge was left injured after someone swung at his face. Nelson claims that it was a robbery, but his attacker is telling a different story. Who is telling the truth?
Evidently, what happens in Vegas does not always stay in Vegas!
Nelson Thomas caught attention online when he shared photos of the broken nose that he received in Sin City. The repeat contestant on The Challenge looked swollen and bloody in photos obtained by TMZ.
According to the outlet, Nelson said on his social media that he was assaulted because somebody wanted to take his $10,000 chain.
Someone did get away with Nelson’s bling, but the assailant claims that there is more to the story.
Nelson told police that he was talking to a woman in the valet area of ARIA Resort & Casino when he was approached by the attacker, who threw a punch and knocked the 33-year-old unconscious. Nelson woke up with his jewelry missing.
Law enforcement says that video surveillance footage shows Nelson in conversation with a woman before taking a hit to the face and falling to the ground. The reality star claims he was “sucker-punched.”
Though the season 37 contestant believed that the attack was motivated by robbery, the husband of the woman involved spoke out about the incident.
Kevin Dixon claimed that Nelson was flirting with his wife before the assault took place.
In the police report cited by TMZ, Dixon admitted to throwing the punch. However, he alleged that Nelson was talking to his wife in an elevator and their conversation kept going. Dixon could not find his wife and she did not answer his calls or texts.
He eventually found her near the valet stand…still talking to Nelson. That’s when he hit him.
Dixon was charged with battery and grand larceny. Though he did confess to the assault, Nelson denies his version of events.
The MTV star believes that Dixon is a “criminal.” Nelson was adamant that he would not flirt with a married woman and he clarified his version of events for TMZ.
