The bag-stopper strikes again!
Nicki Minaj is being sued by her former stylist after she failed to return borrowed clothes. French stylist Maher Jridi, who provided the rapper with several looks for 2017’s Paris Fashion Week, filed the complaint, claiming that Minaj owes him thousands.
According to TMZ, Jridi acquired the clothes for Minaj’s trip to Paris from a wardrobe company under the impression that the star would return the pieces in a timely manner. However, Minaj never gave the assortment of dresses, tops and bottoms back.
Because the pieces were never returned, the company is holding Jridi responsible. After the business’ leaders filed a suit against Jridi for $74 thousand, the stylist filed a suit against Minaj for the same amount. He also cited “emotional strain,” but so far there is no indication on if he will add that to his lawsuit as an additional charge.
Hopefully the earnings from Minaj’s latest business venture are enough to cover the costs of the case. The “Barbie Dreams” rapper took Cardi B’s post-NYFW-fight statement as an opportunity to make some money.
The rapper introduced her brand new line of backpacks and tee shirts on Instagram early October, and each of the products flaunt a “NICKI STOPPED MY BAG” line.
Some took the timing of the release as the rapper’s response to Meek Mill and Cardi B’s possible diss track?
Whispers of a duel project between the two Atlantic artists started after they were spotted being extra friendly at Billboard’s R&B Hip-Hop Power Players shindig in New York. Less than a week after the party, No Jumper founder Adam Grandmaison, who professionally goes by Adam22, took to Twitter, confirming the rumors.
“Someone I trust told me last night that Meek and Cardi 100% have a song together,” the LA based Youtuber tweeted September 28. “I asked if they song felt like a Nicki diss and the person just said ‘the fact that the song exists is a Nicki diss’ read into that as you must.”
While there is no news yet on which artist is the featured and which is the main, the Philly rapper is slated to drop new music soon. Early September Meek announced without announcing his new album on Instagram. He posted a photo of himself performing, captioned: “Buy anything from shop.meekmill.com and get a digital copy of my upcoming album bundled with the item!!!!”
