It’s always hard when a loved one passes away, no matter the circumstances. What’s really important in those trying times is to have a good community that supports you, which Karen Huger is coming to find out on her own. The Real Housewives of Potomac star is currently dealing with the passing of her father, who died last Thursday of natural causes.
While the Fourth of July is normally a time for celebration, this Real Housewives of Potomac star is instead dealing with the tragic passing of her father. Karen Huger’s father passed away at 74-year-old last Thursday, on June 28, a representative for Karen told Page Six.
“There’s never enough time,” Karen said in a prepared statement to the publication.
Benjamin B. Wooden Jr. had suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, which quickly became one of his daughter’s charitable focuses. Her mother, who passed away last fall, also had the neurodegenerative disease.
Raising awareness and funds toward finding a cure for the Alzheimer’s has become a focus for the RHOP star, and she is frequently seen on the Bravo show lending her time to various charitable causes.
“I need to find a cure for this,” she told Page Six after hosting a benefit for the Alzheimer’s Association in 2017. “What a wonderful position to raise funds to help others.”
The publication added that the father of three was also apparently an active member of his church.
In her statement, Karen added, “In my father’s memory, any donations to the Alzheimer’s Association are most appreciated.”
