Has Shannon Beador been lying to us all?
When season 12 of The Real Housewives of Orange County premiered, Shannon Beador’s weight gain could not be ignored. Her obvious change in her figure within a very short period of time left us all worried for the mother of three. Since the show aired, Shannon says she has lost 15 pounds, but it doesn’t look like it.
Recent photos surfaced on RadarOnline of the reality star in one of her signature cover-ups — a black and white striped frock, falling off the shoulder, with jeans and sandals. In the photos, she’s no longer the slim and trim Shannon we saw on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and people are worried for her health!
Ups and Downs
To give you a brief refresher, Shannon Beador went from weighing 134 to 172, in less than one year, gaining about 40% of her previous weight in body fat. Since the premiere of RHOC‘s new season, Shannon has been blaming her drastic change in appearance on Vicki Gunvalson citing the stress of the rumors Vicki spread. Fans will remember that Vicki spent a good deal of time talking about about Shannon’s husband (David) beating her. Vicki even claimed she had text messages to prove it!
Shannon continues to deny these allegations and has focused instead on dealing with ongoing rumors of infidelity issues in her marriage. Trying to keep it all together, it looks like she personally fell apart. The difference in size is undeniable.
As is often the case, Shannon’s weight gain affected how she felt about herself, eventually trickling into her marriage. Having just gone through renewing their vows, it was the last thing she needed. She now seems embarrassed of her body and she uncomfortable being intimate with her husband, especially knowing David’s penchant for straying from his wife. On July 10, after seeing herself on the season 12 premiere, Shannon took to Instagram to speak out on her relationship with her body and the media:
“So let’s just get to it. Yes, I have gained weight. A lot of weight. About 40 pounds to be exact. I have not had plastic surgery or fillers, it’s just plain and simple weight gain. There are multiple factors that have contributed to my size and it will be addressed this season on the show. To those people who intend to write cruel or derogatory comments to me, I want to let you know you will be blocked and the comment deleted. Gaining weight and trying to take it off is a struggle that most women will face at some point in their lives. I am hopeful that my fans and viewers of the show will be supportive of my journey. I am very grateful and thankful to those people that have already reached out to me with their kind thoughts. Let the season begin…,” she wrote.
She also revealed what it felt like to show her weight gain on camera: “Taking my shirt off and showing people the weight that I’ve gained has been nothing but a motivator to me and that, coupled with the fact that my trainer informed me that my body fat percentage was basically putting me in the ticking time bomb area where I could have a heart attack or diabetes or that sort of thing, I mean, it was a wake-up call for me,” Shannon said. “So, I’ve been working at it.”
Did You, or Didn’t You?
Only a few weeks later (July 31), Shannon appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, 15 pounds lighter! She revealed she was still working with personal trainer Tim Ramirez, one of her biggest supporters. “I appreciated his honesty because it snapped me into gear,” she told host Andy Cohen. She also included that along with her weight loss, her body fat had also decreased and was down to 29% which is ultimately, the most important thing. Now, it seems Shannon may be struggling with her body image yet again, but we’re here for you, girl! The journey towards feeling good about yourself isn’t easy. We are rooting for you, Shannon! You’re beautiful no matter what.
One thing that hasn’t fluctuated, however, is Shannon’s dislike for Vicki. Interested to hear what she thinks of her now? Check out the clip above!
