Sometimes, people don’t act rationally under pressure. But that excuse only goes for so long – and Ryan Edwards’ parents, Larry and Jen, have made numerous choices about Ryan and their grandson Bentley Edwards that have left fans shocked.
As tensions between Ryan and Maci heat up, Larry has gotten in the middle of things.
But apparently, this has been too much for MTV, so they decided to cut ties with them completely!

In this season of Teen Mom OG, Maci shared that Bentley wanted to go to counseling. Of course, Maci was more than supportive – but Ryan didn’t even believe it.
“Maci had come to mom and said that Bentley wanted us to do counseling. If he says that’s how he feels, that’s fine,” Ryan said in a later clip, adding, “But is it all your momma’s bullsh*t? I don’t know which one it is.”
It’s clear that Ryan things Maci influenced Bentley to want counseling. “I’m tired of having made-up stories and lies and problems, I’m over that. I’m not gonna do it,” he shared.
And while Larry and Jen’s response was upsetting, it wasn’t exactly surprising.
“I think Ryan needs to be honest and talk to him to help Bentley understand what has been happening all these years,” Larry expressed. But ultimately, he took Ryan’s side.
“Ryan loves Bentley more than you can ever imagine,” he shared. For many, it was upsetting to see that Larry would side with Ryan even when Bentley was in clear need of help.
“This whole entire scene was disgusting. Ryan really did manipulate his parents into thinking he was right this whole time,” one fan wrote in the Teen Mom Tea Instagram comments.
“Wow I always loved Jen & Larry smh definitely look at them differently now,” another shared.
Fans were even more uncomfortable when Larry doubled down.
In the clip from TMOG, a producer asks Larry: “Do you guys feel more and more like you’re stuck between a rock and hard place – because now you have Ryan who’s communicated what he needs to stay healthy and now you have Bentley communicating a bit more of what he wants?”
But Larry made his stance clear. “We’re not stuck,” he said.
“I told Bentley I said look, I love you more than anything in this world… but if you think that I’m ever gonna give up on my only son then you’re sadly mistaken.”
This riled fans up further. “They gave up on their only son years ago by pretending his addiction didn’t exist and blaming Maci for his faults. To tell Bentley that means they’ve given up on Benny. Ryan is a grown a** man with no job and no aspiration in life,” one penned.
Another pointed out: “So then he doesn’t ACTUALLY love Bentley ‘more than anything in this world’. He loves Ryan more…he literally chose an adult who acts like a child…over an innocent child. Gross.”
Meanwhile, Larry and Jen have claimed that Ryan is “not allowed” to see Bentley… but according to Maci, that’s not quite the case.
“They’ve been allowed to see him the whole time. They just saw him at Jagger’s birthday,” Maci told a friend during last episode of TMOG.
“If I went to the press and spilled all the tea, y’all probably never want to leave your d*mn house again,” she threatened.
Later, she elaborated to her husband, Taylor.
“Bentley laid it out. He said he would like to go maybe try therapy with his dad,” she shared. “Until then, he wasn’t comfortable being around him. Bentley has been over there since then and they have seen him. They’re frickin’ delusional.”
