This mom is new to the franchise, but she is already making a splash!
Fans were shocked when MTV announced that they would be adding two new reality stars to Teen Mom OG.
Cheyenne Floyd and her baby daddy Cory Wharton were met with a huge outcry from fans. Viewers were initially shocked that the former Are You The One? star did not have her first child until age 24. Many wanted her fired when racist tweets from years ago re-surfaced.
The announcement of their casting was quickly overshadowed by the other new addition to Teen Mom OG: Bristol Palin!
Because of her outspoken political beliefs, many fans threatened to boycott the show after Bristol was added! In spite of the controversy, the mother-of-three took center stage as MTV teased the new season.
In the first Teen Mom OG trailer for the current season, Cheyenne was nowhere to be seen! In the clip, Bristol tells her mother, “I was a teen mom. My life is not perfect at all.”
Bristol adds, “I want to do what’s best for my kids.”
According to an update from Radar Online, Cory was not happy with MTV after the promo.
“Cory believes MTV is shutting out their family,” an insider revealed to the outlet. His anger is understandable. After all, the 27-year-old was incredibly outspoken about his excitement at joining the MTV franchise.
“Out with the old, in with the new,” Cory wrote in a now-deleted tweet. “You guys are boring they want ratings.” He went on, “I can’t wait till I can really talk.”
Cheyenne and Cory will certainly be bringing their own drama to the franchise. The couple met when they starred on The Challenge: Rivals III. Their relationship hasn’t always gone smoothly: when Cheyenne discovered she was pregnant, she refused to reveal who her baby daddy was for several months.
