Their situation has gotten totally out of control! Will she be able to help him out of this?
Bristol confirmed the announcement on Instagram, writing, “I am excited to join MTV’s Teen Mom OG.I look forward to sharing my experiences and hope that I can help others on their journey.”
The Ashley’s Reality Roundup reported that, at first, Bristol was cast because Maci [Bookout] was refusing to film. “She basically told production and crew that she wasn’t going to film if [her son Bentley’s father] Ryan Edwards was filming because she didn’t want his drug struggles to play out on TV anymore,” a source told The Ashley. “She didn’t want Bentley to be able to watch that go down.”
Unlike most of the teenage mothers who have joined the 16 and Pregnant franchise and its spin-offs, Bristol is long accustomed to the spotlight. At 17 years old, her pregnancy with Tripp was announced at the 2008 Republican National Convention, shortly after her mother was chosen as John McCain’s running mate. Teen Mom OG fans are about to meet a whole new side of her though. MTV recently released a sneak peek of the new season, which premieres October 1.
Sarah Palin’s statement after her initial pregnancy announcement read, “We’re proud of Bristol’s decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support.”
