Tori Roloff‘s motherhood has been very public from the beginning, since whether she likes it or not, she’s a reality TV wife.
That means that in addition to getting endless support from fans, she also has to deal with a lot of mommy-shaming.
But now, she’s getting real about how hard things have been.
Even though Tori has a lot to be excited about, she recently shared some bittersweet news.
In an interview with People Magazine, Tori shared that she’s no longer breastfeeding her youngest, Lilah.
She shared that the process has been a little hard on her.
“This is just speaking for myself. I know everyone has different views of breastfeeding and all that, but, for me, it’s a bittersweet thing because, when you start breastfeeding, you built up a connection this whole time with your child,” she told the outlet.
“They’re dependent on you for feeding, and all of that,” she shared. “And so, it’s sad to … Oh, they don’t need me anymore.”
Even though development milestones are exciting, they can come with mixed emotions.
“You’re so proud that they’re growing up and moving on, and it’s one less thing they need from me,” Tori explained. “But then you get a little more freedom back when you no longer breastfeed.”
“I can be away from my child for more than three hours. You get a little piece of your body back too, because I mean, you’re pregnant for nine, 10 months, but you know, your body is fully given to somebody for, you know, a year to two years,” she elaborated.
Recently, Roloffs celebrated a huge milestone for their daughter.
Little Lilah just turned one!
“We love you and your curiosity so much,” Tori captioned this family portrait. “I love that you know what you want and what you don’t want- this is going to serve you well in this world. I love that you’re a mamas girl. It can be exhausting at times but the fact that I can make you happy is the best feeling in the world. I love how you look at your dad and your brother with so much love. I love that you’re resilient and you’re getting good at going with the flow,” she shared.
She added, “You are such a light in our world Lilah. You are such a gift. I thank God every single day that He chose me to be your mom. I can’t wait to spend as many birthdays as I can with you!!”
But recently, fans on Instagram have been sharing less excited feelings. Tori has had to address concern for her son Jackson.
