Uh oh, Stassi!
Stassi Schroeder can’t seem to keep her mouth shut. The Vanderpump Rules star has found herself in hot water once again for comments that she’s made on her social media. This time, Stassi is getting slammed by fans as she throws her support behind the recently-controversial Oshry sisters and their social media empire.
Given her history of insensitive comments, supporting the currently embattled sisters is not a good look for the Bravo star.
Fans are coming after Stassi Schroeder yet again. The controversial reality personality — who only recently recovered from her last social media faux pas — is back on the grind. This time, she’s thrown her support behind the controversial sisters behind the Oshry social media empire.
“You’ll get through this,” Stassi wrote under one of Claudia Oshry’s — a.k.a. “Girl With No Job” — apology videos. She continued: “Everyone knows who you really are. We all say stupid s**t sometimes. And I’m really feeling for you. Sending you love.”
The Oshry sisters have built a millennial empire of social media accounts and use the internet as their platform to reach millions, and they make millions doing it. Claudia and her sisters — Jackie Oshry, Olivia Oshry, and Margo Oshry — are the height of Instagram celebrity that many young people hope to one day achieve. They have a massive reach between the four of them, and their accounts reach millions of people every day. From GirlWithNoJob to HungoverAndHungry to Jackie O. Problems, the Oshrys have made social media their lives. However, all of that might be changing soon.
Earlier this week (Feb. 28, 2018), in the The Daily Beast published an exposé on the family which revealed that aren’t just related to conservative, right-wing talking head Pamela Geller, she’s their mother. The bombshell article alleges that the sisters not only tried to hide their relationship to Geller, but that their own politics may align with hers more than their fans realized.
There might be some evidence that the Oshry’s do, in fact, agree with their mother’s racist, bigoted views.
Digging Up Dirt
The folks over at the Daily Beast dug up some incriminating tweets from the sisters’ past which included anti-muslim sentiments as well as evidence that they believed in the racist conspiracies about President Barack Obama. The writer responsible for the exposE also dug up tweets from Claudia which expressed support for George Zimmerman, asked for Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell to be reinstated, made fun of gays, and used hurtful terms for people with intellectual disabilities.
Claudia and Jackie have since issued apologies from their accounts — from text posts to heartfelt videos — all of which said that they regret their past actions and words and their old posts do not reflect who they are nor do the views of their mother. Claudia even wrote the following as a statement for the Daily Beast:
“We want to be clear to our audience and fans that our political and cultural beliefs are not anti-Muslim or anti-anyone. Our views are separate from our mother’s. Being raised by a single parent, we were taught to make our own choices based on our personal beliefs. We are inspired to think for ourselves and we do. We do not condone discrimination or racist beliefs of any kind.”
